File Transfer Protocol (FTP), represents the most famous method of sending files to a hosting account. With an FTP application that’s pre-installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can set up a connection to your hosting server and copy all of the web files that you need with a couple of clicks. You can do this via a simple-to-use interface and it is as simple as dragging and dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using FTP is the fact that you will be able to set up separate FTP accounts, each one with a different level of access to your web space, so if you have to grant somebody access, for example – a web designer, they will be able to access only a specific folder and will not be able to see the remaining content or any other info, including personal details. You need three things to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally an IP or a domain, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Shared Website Hosting

You can create as many FTP accounts as you like with each of the shared website hosting that we offer, since we’ve chosen not to restrict this service. Thus, you can manage multiple Internet sites all at once or give other persons access to multiple folders. Once a given job has been carried out and you do not want that individual to be able to access your files any longer, you can update the password for the FTP account or you can just remove that account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and stop worrying about someone accessing it once more. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all shared packages, will allow you to see the full list of the active FTP accounts shown alphabetically. It takes only one mouse click to administer various options for any of them – to modify the password or the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your websites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to set up a different FTP account for any of them, since we have not put a restriction on this feature with any of our semi-dedicated server packages. You can accomplish this through the FTP section of our user-friendly Hepsia Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the FTP accounts that you have created, along with the folder that each one can connect to. If necessary, you’ll be able to change the password for a specific account or to edit its access path with a few clicks. You can also delete an account with ease if you no longer need it – for instance, if you have hired a web developer who’s done with the site and you don’t want them to be able to access your files any longer. For convenience’s sake, we have compiled different educational video clips, that will help you administer your FTP accounts without effort in case you have never used a hosting plan before.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
